Hyderabad Kuchipudi Dance Workshop

We had the rare and wonderful opportunity to host an intimate workshop with Kritya students, thanks to a serendipitous gathering—many of our US-based students happened to be visiting India at the same time, and our India-based students joined in as well.

Led by Yamini, Kritya’s founder and principal teacher, the workshop was a deeply immersive experience. Yamini played the mridangam as we explored technical exercises and rhythmic themes, delving into the nuances of movement and music.

What made this gathering even more special was the setting—Yamini’s childhood home, the very place where she spent years training, rehearsing, and shaping her artistic journey. The students not only learned within its walls but also got to experience the essence of the space that nurtured her dance and music.
