Kritya Dance Ensemble presents Rageshri Tillana, an evocative Kuchipudi work choreographed by Yamini Kalluri and set to a composition by the legendary Lalgudi Jayaraman.
Rooted in the aesthetic beauty and fluidity of Kuchipudi, this abstract work incorporates the sculptural lines of ballet into a dynamic movement vocabulary, celebrating Shiva, the Lord of Dance and Destruction. Set to a mesmerizing, cyclical musical arrangement, the choreography explores the tension between repetition and transformation, where recurring rhythms meet ever-evolving movement. Through this interplay, the work reflects on the metaphysical nature of creation, destruction, and renewal.
Performed by Akhila Ballari, Sravani Katamaneni, Shruthi Ailneni, and Sushma Gurram, the piece brings together intricate rhythmic patterns, expressive movement, and contemporary choreographic exploration.
